Exciting news has come from the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) and the Fort Chaffee Redevelopment Authority (FCRA) regarding Interstate 49. The two entities announced that construction on the I-49 corridor between Chaffee Crossing and Alma will begin this fall. The project has been in the works for more than two decades and is part of a long-term congressional plan to connect Shreveport, Louisiana, to Kansas City, Missouri. It is also expected to have a major positive impact on regional industry and trade.
