Poteau, Oklahoma

Poteau serves as the seat of LeFlore County and is a unique blend of historical charm and progressive industries. The city is home to the “World’s Highest Hill.” At 1,999 feet, Cavanal Hill falls just a foot short of mountain status. It also hosts the widely-popular Poteau Balloon Fest each October, which showcases colorful hot-air balloons from around the country. Poteau has repeatedly been recognized among the “100 Best Small Towns in America,” and one of the “Top 200 Towns” for outdoorsmen, hunters, and anglers by Outdoor Life Magazine.
