LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) — Arkansas is about to get a whole flock of new turkeys!
The North Carolina-based food manufacturer, Butterball announced plans to add at least 30 new turkey farms in the state. The company is growing, and the new farms will help the company meet demand.
According to the Associated Press, most of the farms will be located within a 50-mile radius of Ozark and Altus, but company officials said they will consider pushing the expansion north to the Huntsville area.
Most of the farms will be owned and operated by contract poultry growers.
The company also recently hired 160 new workers for its processing plant in Ozark.
